Facade fixing system

Facade fixing system is a set of technical components for the permanent and secure attachment of the façade layer to the building structure. It is of particular importance in timber-frame houses. It must ensure that the partition is stable and adequately ventilated while keeping the whole system lightweight.

The most common grillage systems are made of wooden or aluminium battens and counter-battens, to which façade panels, boards, fibre-cement boards or other claddings are fixed. It is very important to maintain a ventilation gap between the sheathing and cladding, which allows moisture to drain freely and extends the life of the structure.

The façade fixing system must be chosen taking into account the type of cladding, climatic conditions and fire requirements. A properly designed and constructed system affects not only the aesthetics, but also the energy efficiency and sustainability of the modular house.
