Wind insulation is a protective layer used in the building envelope to prevent wind from entering the structure. It is placed on the outside of the insulation. It is most often in the form of a membrane or board (e.g. wood fibre panelswhich also acts as additional thermal insulation). Protects the thermal insulation layer against hot air and the weakening of its properties.
The wind insulation also has a protective function against dust and moisture from outside. At the same time, it allows water vapour to escape from the interior of the partition. Frame houses i energy efficient are places where correct airtightness is essential for thermal comfort and energy efficiency. It is, of course, also important in traditional construction.
