High-strength materials These are structural materials characterised by greater resistance to mechanical loads than standard solutions. Thanks to their higher strength parameters, they can withstand greater tensile, compressive, bending or shear forces without losing their functional properties. This group includes, amongst others, high-strength steels and specialised metal alloys. It also encompasses structural timber with enhanced properties and modern composite materials.
The use of high-strength materials makes it possible to design lighter and more efficient designs whilst maintaining the required load-bearing capacity and safety. These materials are used, amongst other things, in the construction industry, bridge engineering, industrial structures and the energy sector. They are used to construct structural elements that are exposed to heavy loads or require increased service life.
