Spray insulation is a thermal insulation method. It involves applying an insulating material (usually PUR or PIR polyurethane foam) directly to the surface using a specialised spray unit. The foam expands rapidly to form a uniform, airtight layer without thermal bridges or the need for mechanical fixing.
Thanks to its very good adhesion to a variety of substrates, spray insulation works well in both new buildings and during thermal modernisation.
The method is used, among other things, for insulation of roofs, ceilings, walls and attics - especially in frame construction and modular. It has the advantage of fast execution, excellent thermal insulation and the ability to reach hard-to-reach places. However, it is worth remembering that the effectiveness and durability of this insulation depends on the quality of the foam used and the experience of the contractor.
