Mounting anchors are components for the permanent fixing of building structures (e.g. walls, columns, beams or foundations) to the substrate, usually concrete. They are used, among other things, when connecting wooden or steel elements to the foundation in timber frame and modular houses.
Mounting anchors provide stability, resistance to horizontal and vertical forces and safety of the entire structure. They come in various forms, such as chemical anchors, mechanical anchors (expansion anchors, sleeve anchors) or threaded rods cast in concrete. The choice of the right type of anchor depends on the technical conditions and structural loads.
Correct installation of the anchors requires precision, particularly in terms of embedment depth and axial alignment with respect to the designed system. Inaccuracy at this stage can lead to a weakening of the overall structure or the need for costly correction in later phases of construction.
