Terrace

Terrace

Terrace is an open, flat space adjacent to or on top of a building structure that serves a recreational and leisure function. It can be located at ground level, on the roof of a building, above a garage or other floors.

The terrace should be finished with weather-resistant materials such as wood, concrete, ceramic tiles or stone. It can be equipped with landscaping elements such as pergolas, balustrades or awnings. So-called green terraces, which act as gardens on the roof, favouring rainwater retention and improving the microclimate, are currently gaining popularity.

Depending on the architectural design and application, terrace can serve aesthetic, practical or both functions at the same time, increasing the functionality and use value of the space.
