Point foundation

Point foundation is a type of building foundation in the form of individual concrete footings embedded in the ground, which transfer loads from the structure to the ground. It is mainly used for lightweight structures (sheds, gazebos), terraces, fence posts or wooden structures.

The point foundation works well wherever there is no need for a full footing or slab foundation. The footings, distributed at designated points, allow the load-bearing elements to be supported stably, ensuring that the weight of the object is transferred evenly.

The solution is cheaper and quicker to build than traditional foundations continuous, while limiting ground intervention. However, it requires proper planning of the location of points and proper preparation of the ground to avoid uneven settlement of the structure. An additional advantage is that a structure founded on this type of foundation can be easily dismantled and reused.
