OSB is the abbreviation for Oriented Strand Board i stands for wood-based structural panel. It consists of several layers of rectangular chips (so-called strands). They are stacked in different directions and pressed under high pressure with synthetic resins. Thanks to the layered structure and orientation of the strands, OSB has high mechanical strength and dimensional stability.
W frame construction OSB has a variety of functions. They are used for stiffening walls, roof sheathing and ceilings, as a subfloor, as well as for interior construction and prefabricated modules. OSB/3 is most often used for applications with increased humidity, and OSB/4 for increased load-bearing capacity.
OSB is easy to work withavailable in large formats and enable quick installation. They are used in prefabricated houses for walls or ceilings, speeding up construction and improving precision. However, it is increasingly being replaced by alternatives in high-quality prefabricated buildings. In Wascovilla's high-quality prefabricated buildings, however, we have eliminated this material completely in favour of even more modern and technologically efficient solutions.
