Mobile home is a lightweight, transportable prefabricated housing structure mounted on a steel frame with wheels or a chassis for mobility. This type of house is most often not permanently connected to the ground, which sets it apart from modular homes and traditional buildings. It can be used seasonally or year-round, depending on the standard of insulation, type of installation and wall construction. Due to the simplified formal procedures and the lack of need for foundations, it is used as a holiday home, office building, construction backup or temporary structure.
In many cases, a mobile home does not require planning permission, but its setting must comply with local legislation. This includes planning conditions or the local development plan. Space and transport restrictions affect the interior layout and technical solutions. Despite this, the functionality and comfort of these houses can match that of traditional houses.
