What sort of façade should you choose for a house by the sea?

If you want to keep maintenance work on your home to a minimum, silicone render is the better choice for a seaside property. A timber façade looks more natural, but with salt and strong sunlight, it requires regular repainting.

KOSBUD silicone plaster, which we use to finish most of our models, has a water-repellent surface. Water runs off it, carrying away dust and some of the dirt, which is why the wall retains its fresh colour for longer. It is also flexible, resistant to micro-cracks and UV radiation, whilst allowing the wall to breathe.

The wooden cladding, used in the Bryza and Bryza Mała models, gives the house a character that many people associate with the coast. However, it is important to bear in mind that every few years it is worth inspecting the cladding and refreshing the wood’s protective treatment. Whatever your choice, it is worth considering the lower part of the walls. The strip at ground level is most heavily exposed to rain and sand, so for some models we have provided the option of finishing the plinth with fine-grained Mozalit plaster.
