Will the house look the same after the conversion?

It all depends on the original design and the extent of the changes that need to be made. However, as a general rule, the building’s appearance can be similar to the original version, or even identical. The same applies to its function. If you chose a particular design because of its large living room, four bedrooms, a pantry next to the kitchen or a separate study, there is no reason to change these features unnecessarily.

Adjustments may be required where the structure so demands. Sometimes the thickness of a partition will change; sometimes a different solution will be needed above a large glazed area; on other occasions, the roof structure will require adjustments. However, these should not be surprises that arise during construction. This is precisely why the design undergoes analysis and adapting one’s own design to the frame construction method earlier.
