It defines the limit at which the component does not fail or exceed the allowable deformations. Load-bearing capacity depends on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>type of material,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>strength properties of the material,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the cross-sectional geometry of the structural elements,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the way in which structural elements are supported,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the type and nature of the loads acting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity or exposure to fire, and, in the case of composite elements, the quality of the connections, are also important influences. In structural design, the load-bearing capacity of a member is determined by static and strength calculations.
