Fireplace

Fireplace is a heating appliance. It is most often built into a wall or freestanding and is used to heat a space by burning wood, briquettes, pellets or other fuels.

It consists of a hearth, an enclosure and a flue that carries the flue gases to the chimney. It can have both a utilitarian function, as a source of heat, and a decorative function, creating a cosy atmosphere in the interior. Depending on the design, fireplaces can have an open hearth, a closed combustion chamber with a fireplace insert. They can also be equipped with hot air distribution systems and a water jacket.

Today's fireplaces often combine heating efficiency with ecological solutions that reduce emissions. Through the use of modern technologies, such as heat recuperation or electronic controls, fireplaces can significantly improve comfort and increase the energy efficiency of buildings.
