Energy certificate

Energy certificate is the document that defines energy demand of the building needed for heating, ventilation, domestic hot water, cooling and lighting. It shall be drawn up in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.

It provides indicators of the building's energy performance, including usable, final and primary energy. It also assesses the energy efficiency of the building and possible retrofit recommendations. It can be used to compare different buildings in terms of operating costs and environmental impact.

An energy certificate is required for the sale, rental and commissioning of a building. It may also be needed when applying for certain forms of funding. This document must be drawn up by a person listed in the central register of energy performance of buildings.

Although the certificate itself does not affect the use of the house, it is an important source of information for investors, owners and buyers regarding the running costs and energy standard of the property.
